Hello - Stampin’ Up! Bloom & Grow Stamp Set

Hello hello hello! How are we all this fine Sunday? Today I really the day of rest for me as I’m exhausted after a busy day yesterday with the Pinkies in a special day over in Birmingham. I love days with my Stampin Up Family and mostly spend the day putting the world to right with like minded people. You could be there too and I’d love you too, simply join my team and you can pop along.

Today’s card is actually my swap that I handed to 10 lucky people. This card itself is so super simple to do and to be honest I managed to complete 10 of these in under an hour. I’ve been trying to challenge myself to use some of the amazing colours that I don’t showcase often. Calypso Carol is one of the ones that I love to look at but never use. It’s a bold and strong colour but is softened by the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set.

This stamp set is beautiful and so versatile, just look at how amazing amazing the liner design of the stamp stand out just on its own. This is just in its basic form, you’ve seen me use the stamps before with colour by introducing blends. The limit is only that if your imagination. Think it and made it, it’s that simple.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the amazing Sequins. I’ve had these sat in the story for the last 6 months and just haven’t used them. There’s just been something just not quite right when I’ve considered them before on a project but know I’m using them all the time. I love them and I’m not even sorry for much you will be seeing them in the future.

As I didn’t spend much time with Sean yesterday today’s our day to relax do nothing; even those I have so much to do. Oh funny story though, Sean was given a Scrapbook for his birthday and he’s actually stuck photos in it. I’m so proud of him, but don’t tell him, we’ll just keep this between you and me.

Enjoy Today - Stampin’ Up! Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set

Well the weather is still miserable! I hope it’s nicer where you are like seriously isn’t it supposed to be summer time? Don’t worry because while the weather is terrible on the outside you can be busy inside drinking coffee and making amazing things!

Today’s card is probably the first card that I actually created using the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set. It’s gorgeous and I was a little nervous to get colouring it in. I’ve seen a varied spray of other ways demonstrators have coloured in the Magnolia however I took inspiration from the one that me and Sean brought when we moved into our current house. Our one is primarily white with a tint of pink tones.

The blends are amazing and if I had to choose Petal Pink light and dark to colour in the the main flower and the leafs where in Moody Meadow. I love the contrast between the subtle tones of the Petal Pink against the Mossy Meadow. For the card I wanted to tie all the elements together in the card base.

What I love most about this stamp set? How super easy it to know where to add the shading. You’ll notice that there are little lines with the flower shapes. Equally if you don’t want to these Stamp Set are so well designed that you just need to stamp it down in whatever colour you want! Can you tell I love this stamp set...

I have a super excited for this weekend when I’ll be heading into Birmingham City Centre for a day out with the Pinkies for a fun filled day with lots of crafting and fun. I will also be presenting, god knows why I offered to do it but clearly someone wants to hear what I have to say right?

Birthday Wishes - Stampin’ Up! Varied Vases Stamp Set

So I’m coming at you today feeling super pumped and motivated. Not to write this post because for some reason I always struggle to know what to say. I’m feeling really good because I listened to a talk by my Stamping Society Sister Danielle Bennenk, in this talk she hit the nail on the head about I was feeling. I’ve felt a little self aware and vulnerable and her talk just reminded me it’s okay to just be me!

Today’s card is showcasing some more of the amazing Designer Series Paper (DSP) that’s Is now available. This time I’m using the incredible Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP, it is fabulous. When I was given a pack for free for attending an demonstrator only event, I was a bit like what can I do with this? That quickly changed and I’ve been cutting away for days.

I’ve used the some of the mosaic flowers on a future project but these adorable little butterflies are also available in the same sheet of DSP.  Not one of us are wasteful so of course I created this little extended note card. These note cards have sadly retired and no longer available to purchase but this doesn’t mean you can’t be making them yourself. They measure 6.4 x 11.4 once folded.

The sentiment is from the carry over item Varied Vases which is one of my favourite. This sentiment is easily switched out to make this perfect for any occasion. There are so many stamp sets available that our just sentiments, these are easily overlooked as we get distracted by the wonderful image stamps.

Tomorrow I’m expecting a reliever from the man in brown with some new goodies as well as all the DSP in the catalogue. I’m running a DSP Share with people in the same team as me as a little practice before offering to you love lot.

OSAT: Something Old, Something New - Stampin' Up! Botanical Bliss Stamp Set

Well I’m just just to start it off with how terrible the weather has been the last few days! I can’t believe it and it’s effective everything I had planned to do this week. One of which was record the how to videos for today’s projects... I’m frowning as I write this because I’m just not happy! Where’s the sun?

Nevertheless I have a schedule to keep and I plan to keep it. Today’s post is one of my favourite in each month, the One Stamp at a Time team. There are so many fantastic themes that really challenge me to think outside of the box a little. As always the challenge is to make one card and a 3D item/a tag. This month the theme is Something old, something new. Perfect to celebrate the release of the new catalogue.

For once I actually come up with the 3D item first! Cant you believe it? I know it’s crazy. Normally I get super stress with 3D projects but this time I had it all planned. It came from a memory of when I used to create these card design planners or sketch books. They are so simple to do, simply cut rules/plain paper to 6x6” and a sheet of DSP to the same size. I scored at 3” and along the score line staples all the items together. Simple right? I choose to use the Bird Ballad DSP and coordinates with the Botanical Bliss Stamp Set and Botanical Tags Dies.

There’s so many colours used in these projects, I went a little crazy. I pondered a little bit over if I should stick with the colours within the DSP pack or go in another direction. I went the in the other direction, I choose Mint Macaroon, Blackberry Bliss and Pretty Peacock to sit alongside the Calypso Carol. They just all work so perfectly together! The card follows the same design only placed on a base of Pretty Peacock.

Now it’s time for you to hop over onto everyone else Blog! As I’m at work I’ll be hopping across after and I can’t wait to have a peak!
I’ll be back on Sunday with a project I’m yet to decide on, but it’ll have a video I promise! Hopefully the rain we stop and we can continue with the amazing sunny weather that has left far to quickly!

Surround You - Stampin’ Up! Artisan Textures Stamp Set

It seems like forever since I last posted. Things have been pretty none stop here of late, especially with you all loving the NEW Annual 2019-2020 Catalogue. I have been trying to find time to craft in between jobs as a sort or reward for getting tasks done. Have you been crafting much recently or are you waiting for your new items to turn up?

Today’s card has been in the background for the last 6 weeks waiting to be posted about. However it’s one of the cards you just stop and think no I’ll post about this one instead or this one worked better and on and on. So I’m being stricter with myself and actually posting it. A lot of formats that I use have changed since making this card and video so please excuse the ‘flashback’.

I love this card so much in the concept however if I was to make the card again then I’d review the choice of colours. Do you not think there just needs to be another colour maybe or even on coloured card stock? The colour used is Blackberry Bliss and Whisper White, the great part with this card is the fact you don’t have to use these colours. You could quite easily swap out Blackberry Bliss for any other colour that Stampin’ Up offers.

The main aperture is created using the very popular Butterfly Duet Punch. You all know I love butterflies well it’s been a while and with the Up coming projects I have planned you want see them for a while so why not get it out there. I created this two different ways; one I cut a piece of card stock down to the size given in the video below, this works okay but it takes some time to get it straight. I’d recommend just punching it out of a standard piece of Whisper White and cut it down so it has 1cm each side from the punches shape.

So I’m off to play with the new items and really get stuck in with some new items and I’ll be back on Thursday with the OSAT Team with the theme “Something old, something new”. I’m excited are you?
